We\u2019re issuing our call for abstracts, with the relevant details included below in text format, with posters following. We\u2019re looking forward with excitement for the chance to share interdisciplinary presentations of Student Northern work, and in the interest of broadening our pool of attendees as much as possible, I\u2019d like to ask you to share this with your departments, colleagues, working groups, and\/or students.<\/div>\n<div>Many thanks,<\/div>\n<div>Keegan Smith<\/div>\n<div>M.Sc. All research fields are&nbsp;welcome, including social, physical and life sciences and the humanities. Paper&nbsp;and poster presentations&nbsp;are open to current undergraduate, master\u2019s and doctoral&nbsp;students,&nbsp;&nbsp;as well as recent graduates&nbsp;(since January 2014). This year, the Symposium&nbsp;will be held on&nbsp;<b>Friday, March 6th&nbsp;at Carleton University<\/b>. It is an excellent way to practice presenting and gain&nbsp;valuable feedback from your peers!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The call for abstracts is&nbsp;now open for the Ottawa-Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium (OCSNRS) 2015. Our call for abstracts poster can be found attached to this email as a PDF, along with an invitation to the conference photo contest. If the PDF is inaccessible to you, please review the abstract submission guidelines below.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Abstract submission&nbsp;deadline:<\/span><br>\n<b>Friday February 6th, 2015<\/b><p><\/p>\n<p>Abstracts are welcomed in&nbsp;either French or English. Presentations may range from project proposals to publication-ready&nbsp;results.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Northern research&nbsp;eligibility is defined as research taking place north of the Northern Scientific Training&nbsp;Program boundary (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.polarcom.gc.ca\/node\/181\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.polarcom.gc.ca\/node\/181<\/a>).<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Submitted abstracts must&nbsp;include:<\/span><br>\n(1)&nbsp;The names of all authors with the presenting author&nbsp;and institutional affiliation indicated<br>\n(2)&nbsp;The student\u2019s department, program type (BA, BSc, MA,&nbsp;MSc, PhD, etc), and supervisor\u2019s name<br>\n(3)&nbsp;The presentation title<br>\n(4)&nbsp;Preference for an oral or a poster presentation<br>\n(5)&nbsp;An abstract of 250 words maximum, which should&nbsp;include a brief introduction to your topic, research objectives,&nbsp;approach\/methods and key&nbsp;findings.<p><\/p>\n<p>Submit your abstract as a&nbsp;word document to Marcus Phillips (<a href=\"mailto:marcus.phillips@carleton.ca\" target=\"_blank\">marcus.phillips@carleton.ca<\/a>).
