NPSIA-PT&D’s program in Negotiation – with streams in Intergovernmental (Federal, Territorial and Provincial) and International bargaining – features the Sage Bargaining method developed by our trainers Dr. Michael Dolan and Dr. Brian Tomlin. The Sage Bargaining method is an analytical tool created to assist in the establishment of priorities, assess value trade-offs, manage the negotiation process, build coalitions and manage critical stakeholder communication. The program demonstrates the use of various approaches and techniques employed in negotiating, including the selection and application of appropriate strategies and tactics. Analytical and negotiating skills are applied directly in simulated negotiations, and concrete analytical tools are provided for subsequent use in monitoring and managing complex intergovernmental and international affairs.
