NPSIA has prepared and trained leaders for careers in international affairs since it first began offering graduate programs at Carleton University in 1965.<\/p>\n
Today, NPSIA counts among it\u2019s alumni currently serving ambassadors, senior public servants and leaders in global business. In addition, NPSIA has produced some of the world’s most recognized and skilled development and non-governmental professionals.<\/p>\n
In the early 1990\u2019s NPSIA faculty played a major role in the development of Canada\u2019s own Foreign Service Institute.<\/p>\n
In 2005, NPSIA Director Dr. Fen Hampson established the position of Director of Professional Training and Development, with the cooperation of the Dean of Public Affairs, to support the management of the first customized programs in professional Diplomatic training.<\/p>\n
