NEW!!!\u00a0 NPSIA-PT&D is pleased to present the pilot offering of the Practical Certificate in Critical Infrastructure Protection workshop with featured presenter, NPSIA’s Dr. Stephanie Carvin.\u00a0 This workshop is intended as a foundational learning experience for professionals seeking an introduction to Critical Infrastructure Protection concepts, definitions and tools, and is presented as a pathway to the current and growing CIP ‘body of knowledge.’<\/p>\n

Critical infrastructure are assets of physical and logical systems; essential to the minimum operations of the economy and government. \u00a0These assets are so vital that incapacity or destruction would have a debilitating impact on society.\u00a0 Their failure or impairment would cause sustained shortage of supplies, cause significant disruptions, or negatively impact public order. As our society is increasingly networked, the interactions (dependencies and interdependencies) have become more complex and difficult to manage.\u00a0 In this introductory program, we explore these management challenges.<\/p>\n

This two-day program (offered over 4 half days) provides an introduction to Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), including the basic concepts and frameworks, explanations for accidents and policy challenges in assessing criticality and promoting resilience. \u00a0We conclude with a discussion on skills, competencies and capabilities relevant to protection practices.<\/p>\n
