\n<\/strong>Fee:<\/strong>\u00a0 early registration: $ 1300.00 + HST until\u00a0 _______ , ____ and then Regular registration: $ 1,600.00 + HST.<\/p>\n

NPSIA-PT&D and NPSIA alumni along with members of the Ottawa Diplomatic Association\u00a0may register at the Alumni rate of $1,000.00 + HST.<\/p>\n


\nProgram description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The program\u00a0is organized around the various stages of an applied problem-solving model of the international policy process.\u00a0 Cases and exercises are used to illustrate their application in the analysis and formulation of Canada\u2019s international security, trade and development policies.<\/p>\n


\nLearning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n

Participants will be able to<\/p>\n

\u2022 identify a policy problem for inclusion on the governmental policy agenda<\/p>\n

\u2022 identify the objectives that any potential solution would need to achieve in addressing the problem<\/p>\n

\u2022 identify the various alternative solutions that are available to address the problem<\/p>\n

\u2022 construct a consequences matrix for the various alternatives<\/p>\n

\u2022 use matrix analysis to assess the alternative solutions, identifying the advantages and disadvantages associated with each and executing tradeoffs among them<\/p>\n

\u2022 identify performance criteria to assess implementation<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Audience<\/strong><\/p>\n

The course is designed for:<\/p>\n

\u2022 middle and senior officials involved directly in international policy formulation,\u00a0 implementation and evaluation;<\/p>\n

\u2022 representatives of the private and nonprofit sectors who are involved directly in the policy dimensions of Canada\u2019s engagement in the world; and<\/p>\n

\u2022 individual consultants and others interested in increasing their understanding of the design, negotiation, implementation and evaluation\u00a0 of Canada\u2019s international policies.<\/p>\n
