A Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Founding of the Arctic Council

You are invited to a Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Founding of the Arctic Council. The event celebrates the signing of the Ottawa Declaration twenty years ago on September 19, 1996 establishing the Arctic Council.

In addition to a number of panel discussions on the origin and accomplishments of the Arctic Council, the celebration will feature a keynote address on Canada’s international Arctic policies by Minister of Foreign Affairs Stéphane Dion, at 8:30 am.

Coffee and a light buffet lunch will be provided to registered attendees.

The event is being organized by Global Affairs Canada in partnership with the Arctic program of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the Faculty of Public Affairs of Carleton University.

Date: Thursday, 29 September 2016.
Time: Registration at 7:30 AM and program starts at 8:00 am.
Location: River Building Atrium, 2nd floor,
Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Ontario.

A new CIGI publication, North of 60: Toward a renewed Canadian Arctic Agenda, a collection of short essays by a dozen Canadian Arctic experts, will be launched at the meeting.
