International Affairs and Canadian Migration Policy- Panel Discussion (Zoom)

March 2, 2021 at 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Location:Online (Zoom)
Cost:Free

Join us for the first of two panel discussions with some of the contributors to the latest edition of Canada Among Nations on International Affairs and Canadian Migration Policy, edited by Howard Duncan and Yiagadeesen (Teddy) Samy, who will provide opening and closing remarks.

This latest volume of Canada Among Nations underlines the extent to which Canada’s relationships with individual countries and with the international community is closely affected by its immigration policies and practices. It draws attention to some of these areas in the hope that it will encourage more scholarly and policy activity directed to the impact of immigration on foreign affairs.

Panelists:

Christopher Sands is a Senior Research Professor at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, and Director of the Canada Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Jenna Hennebry is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies and the Balsillie School of International Affairs, and Co-Founder of the International Migration Research Centre at Wilfrid Laurier University.

James Milner is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Carleton University. He is also currently Project Director of LERRN: The Local Engagement Refugee Research Network.
