Life After NPSIA

The NPSIA Alumni Association would like to invite you to participate in an interactive panel on Life After NPSIA on April 27, 2021 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Zoom. We will be inviting successful alumni (bios below) who will be sharing their experiences gained at NPSIA and during their career progression. The panel aims to provide insight about potential career options after graduation and any lessons learned that may be useful once graduates enter the professional world.

Speakers

  • Maude Olivier, Program Analyst, Global Affairs Canada

Maude Olivier (Bcom [International Management and Political Science], McGill University, 2015; MA [International Affairs and African Studies], Carleton University, 2017) joined the Government of Canada in 2016 through FSWEP as a Junior Analyst working in Global Affairs Canada’s Operations, Planning and Strategic Coordination Division of the Sub-Saharan Africa Branch and then was a political affairs intern at the Canadian Embassy to France. From 2017 to 2020, she worked at Global Affairs’ Development Innovation Unit promoting new or improved ways of delivering Canada’s development programming and policy. She is currently serving as a Program Analyst in Bamako for a 2-year assignment where she contributes to the efficiency and impact of Canada’s development assistance to Mali.

  • Ali Tejpar, Senior Analyst, Innovation, Science and Economic Canada 

Ali Tejpar is a graduate of the Juris Doctor/Master of Arts dual-degree program at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and NPSIA at Carleton University. After graduation, Ali was selected from over 3,000 applicants for the Government of Canada’s flagship Recruitment of Policy Leaders (RPL) program. Ali is currently a Senior Analyst at the Artificial Intelligence Hub at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), where he leads on Canada’s international engagement on AI, including multilateral negotiations with 15 founding countries to launch the Global Partnership on AI and participation in forums such as the G7, the G20, and the OECD.

  • Amy Ravanelli, Senior Policy Advisor, Fisheries & Oceans Canada (Canadian Coast Guard)

Amy Ravanelli is a Senior Policy Advisor at the Canadian Coast Guard responsible for providing policy support related to marine navigation initiatives and programs. Prior to that, Amy worked at Global Affairs Canada for three years in the Access to Information directorate advising on the release of sensitive information. Amy graduated from NPSIA in 2017 with a Master of Arts in International Affairs with a specialization in Conflict Analysis and Conflict Resolution
