Rachael Calleja is currently a Senior Research Associate with the Center for Global Development’s (CGD) UK and European Development Leadership program. Prior to joining CGD, she held research roles with the Overseas Development Institute and the Canadian International Development Platform. Rachael’s research focuses primarily on issues of aid effectiveness, donor motivations, innovative aid modalities, and the strategy, management and organization of bilateral development agencies.

Rachael is a Ph.D. graduate from NPSIA where she worked on issues of aid management, structure and change. Prior to NPSIA, she obtained an M.A. in Political Science and International Development from the University of Guelph and a B.A. in History and Political Science from McMaster University.
