{"id":179,"date":"2024-11-13T15:27:33","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T20:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/npsia\/?post_type=cu_people&#038;p=179"},"modified":"2025-01-31T15:41:25","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T20:41:25","slug":"craig-forcese","status":"publish","type":"cu_people","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/npsia\/people\/craig-forcese\/","title":{"rendered":"Craig Forcese"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"mb-6 cu-pageheader cu-component-updated md:mb-12\">\n    <h1 class=\"cu-prose-first-last font-semibold !mt-2 mb-4 md:mb-6 text-3xl md:text-4xl lg:text-5xl lg:leading-[3.5rem] relative after:absolute after:h-px after:bottom-0 pb-5 after:w-10 after:bg-cu-red after:left-px\">\n                    \n             \n                \n            <\/h1>\n\n    \n    <\/header>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Craig Forcese is a full professor at the Faculty of Law (Common Law Section), University of Ottawa (Canada).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is also an Adjunct Research Professor &amp; Senior Fellow, Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University (Canada) (from 2017 to 2022); a National Security Crisis Law Fellow, Center on National Security and the Law, Georgetown Law (Washington DC) (from 2017 to 2020); and, Senior Associate, Global Justice Lab, Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto (Canada) (2016 to 2018).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Craig sits on the executive on the Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society (TSAS), and is a past president of the Canadian Council on International Law and the Canadian Association of Law Teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At uOttawa, Craig teaches public international law, national security law, administrative law and constitutional law. He also co-teaches advanced international law and relations at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University. He co-organizes and co-instructs the Canadian component of Georgetown Law\u2019s National Security Crisis Law course and simulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Craig has a B.A. from McGill University, an M.A. from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University, an LL.B.
