He also currently serving as the Interim Director of the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs. He is faculty associate of Carleton\u2019s Institute of European and Russian Studies (EURUS) and the Centre for Security, Intelligence and Defence Studies (CSIDS), and served as Director of NPSIA\u2019s Centre for Security and Defence Studies from 2006-15. From 2018-2023 he served as Associate Dean (Academic) in FPGA, before assuming the role of Associate Dean (Faculty Affairs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mendeloff\u2019s research examines the theory and practice of international and transitional justice, with a particular focus on the impact of accountability mechanisms, such as international and domestic prosecutions and truth commissions, on wartime civilian violence, war termination, peace processes, post-war statebuilding, democratization, rule of law development, and human rights protections. His current research examines the International Criminal Court\u2019s ability to act coercively to limit or prevent wars crimes and atrocities in ongoing civil wars. At NPSIA, he teaches courses in international conflict analysis, post-conflict peacebuilding and statebuilding, and transitional justice.
