Wallace is a PhD candidate in International Affairs at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University. Her research focuses on natural resource and environmental governance, the political economy of law enforcement, and state responses to illegal resource extraction. Her dissertation examines how political and institutional factors shape the governance of illegal gold mining in Ghana, with particular attention to law enforcement, informality, and environmental governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her research draws on extensive qualitative fieldwork in Ghana, including interviews, court records, documentary analysis, and field observations. Beyond her dissertation, she is interested in the governance of critical minerals, comparative extractive industries, and the role of natural resource governance in advancing sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Racheal currently serves as Project Manager for the Eastern Europe and Transatlantic Network at Carleton University, where she coordinates stakeholder engagement, research activities, and knowledge mobilization. She previously worked with the Canadian Defence and Security Network and has held research and teaching assistant positions at Carleton University and the Royal Military College of Canada.
