As we are an interdisciplinary program, we will accept students from a wide variety of backgrounds such as political science, international relations, global affairs, law, public policy, sociology, anthropology and economics. In some circumstances, GRE scores may be considered if they are available, however it\u2019s not necessary for students to write the GRE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carleton University uses a twelve-point GPA scale. Students can be made a conditional offer of admission to complete this requirement during the summer, prior to the first day of classes. The Office of Graduate Studies provides further information on <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.carleton.ca\/apply-online\/required-documents\/#anchor-12\">language proficiency requirements<\/a> for Graduate students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants who present their most recent degree and transcripts from a Canadian institution are exempt from language proficiency requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n        <\/dd>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n    <div class=\"grid pt-4 pb-3 border-b accordion border-cu-black-100 md:pt-6 md:pb-5 first:border-t\">\n        <dt class=\"font-semibold not-prose\">\n            <button class=\"flex items-center justify-between w-full text-left accordion__button\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-what-is-the-accelerated-pathway-to-npsia-for-undergraduate-students-at-carleton-in-related-fields-of-study\">\n                <span class=\"flex-1 ml-auto text-left break-words whitespace-normal cu-icon\">\n                    What is the accelerated pathway to NPSIA for undergraduate students at Carleton in related fields of study?\n                <\/span>\n                <svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" fill=\"none\" viewbox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke=\"currentColor\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-slot=\"icon\" class=\"w-5 h-5 ml-auto transition-transform rotate-0 accordion__icon text-cu-black-500\">\n                    <path stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\" d=\"M8.25 4.5l7.5 7.5-7.5 7.5\"><\/path>\n                <\/svg>\n            <\/button>\n        <\/dt>\n        <dd class=\"p-0 mt-0 cu-prose cu-prose-first-last accordion__content md:p-0 md:mt-0\" hidden=\"\" id=\"accordion-what-is-the-accelerated-pathway-to-npsia-for-undergraduate-students-at-carleton-in-related-fields-of-study\">\n            \n\n<p>The accelerated pathway at NPSIA is a flexible and individualized plan for students pursuing a Carleton undergraduate degree in a related discipline such as the Global and International Affairs (BGInS) and Public Affairs and Policy Management (BPAPM)&nbsp;degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Accelerated Pathway works in the following way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students in the <strong>third year<\/strong> of their undergraduate program consult with their undergraduate program director as well as NPSIA\u2019s Associate Director (M.A. program) to determine their suitability for the accelerated pathway.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To be eligible to participate in the accelerated pathway, students must have a minimum overall CGPA of A- in their undergraduate program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students accepted into this pathway will take 1.0 credits in NPSIA (INAF) courses in the fourth year of their undergraduate program.
