The Office of Institutional Research and Planning enables the Student Experience Questionnaire Process, previously named the Teaching Evaluation Process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FAQ for Instructors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Below are answers to common questions about the Student Experience Questionnaire from an Instructor perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will my students be able to fill out the questionnaires?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For Winter courses, Student Experience Questionnaire invitations will be sent out on March 25th<\/strong>. Students will receive an invitation from ‘Carleton Student Experience Questionnaires’ (teaching.evaluations@carleton.ca<\/a>) in their Carleton Student email (@cmail.carleton.ca) accounts. The email will contain a link to the Student Experience Questionnaire Portal<\/a> where they will be able to fill out all of the questionnaires that are being conducted online. The system will close on April 8th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will results of my Student Experience Questionnaires be available and how do I access them?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Student Experience Questionnaire results will be made available to instructors once final grades have been submitted and approved by the Deans<\/strong>, after which instructors will receive an email notifying them that the reports are available on the Student Experience Questionnaire Report<\/strong> Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To log in to the Report Portal use just your Carleton username and current password, without CUNET\\ before the username or @cunet.carleton.ca after it. For assistance with your Carleton credentials please go to the ITS Accounts and Passwords<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a student that indicates they have not received an email invitation. What should I do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Please direct them to the the Student Experience Questionnaire Portal<\/a> where they can log in with their Carleton username and current password. If the student is not gaining access to the Portal they can contact teaching.evaluations@carleton.ca<\/a> for troubleshooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is the online system anonymous?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Yes, the online Student Experience Questionnaire is completely confidential and anonymous. To ensure that each student can only complete one questionnaire per course, the online system is designed to keep track of those who have already filled one out, but there is no way to identify any individual as all student responses are stored anonymously without any identifiable information<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am concerned about response rates for my Student Experience Questionnaires. What should I do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

OIRP is working hard to ensure that all courses obtain good response rates by having a broad communication campaign including ads, web links, and social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructors can also help by encouraging students in each session to check their e-mail for a link to participate during the last two weeks of classes. You may also wish to stress the importance of the Student Experience Questionnaire process to encourage students to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can I still give time in class for my students to fill out their online Student Experience Questionnaires?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Yes. If students in your class have access to laptops, tablets, or smartphones that are connected to the internet, then they should be able to login and fill out the questionnaire at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note, however, that if you are giving time in class for students to complete their Student Experience Questionnaires, the same rules apply for the online system as they do for the paper-based system<\/strong>. That is, you may appoint a proctor or student administrator to assist you with this process, but you MUST leave the room<\/strong> while students are filling out their questionnaires.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
