{"id":1061,"date":"2025-09-03T11:50:38","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T15:50:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ombuds\/?page_id=1061"},"modified":"2025-09-03T11:57:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T15:57:46","slug":"accommodations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ombuds\/helpful-resources\/accommodations\/","title":{"rendered":"Accommodations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/pmc\/legal-policies-and-responsibilities\/accommodation-policy\/\">Accommodations Policy<\/a> at Carleton University is administered through the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/pmc\">Paul Menton Centre<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ontario legislation requires that Carleton University fulfill a <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/pmc\/legal-policies-and-responsibilities\/legislated-responsibilities\/\">Duty to Accommodate<\/a> students.<\/p>\n<p>There is an <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/pmc\/legal-policies-and-responsibilities\/accommodation-appeal-process\/\">Accommodation Appeal Process<\/a> available to address situations where the recommended accommodation has not been met.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attendant Services Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carleton University offers <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/attendant-services-program\/about\/\">attendant and personal care services<\/a>, 24-hours per day, 12 months of the year at no cost to students with physical disabilities living in residence.
