It is easier to keep on track when you have clear goals and keep them in sight. Here are nine ways to set goals and make sure you stick with them.<\/p>\n<h3>1.\u00a0 Stay organized<\/h3>\n<p>Organizing your goals will make them much easier to achieve. Keep calendars, to-do lists or other personal organizational tools within view.<\/p>\n<h3>2.\u00a0 Make your goals realistic<\/h3>\n<p>Ambition is a good thing, but sometimes having overly ambitious goals hinders your ability to complete them.\u00a0Setting goals that are achievable makes them that much easier to reach and helps\u00a0motivate you to work towards them.<\/p>\n<h3>3.\u00a0 Write them down<\/h3>\n<p>The best way to make goals stick in your subconscious is to write them down. It makes the goals more concrete, triggering your brain to complete them.<\/p>\n<h3>4.\u00a0 Use campus resources<\/h3>\n<p>Carleton offers a wide variety of support for your <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cuknowhow\/student-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">personal and academic needs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>5.\u00a0 Reward yourself<\/h3>\n<p>Small reinforcements will encourage you to stick with your goals and keep going. You could go out for coffee, watch a movie, relax in a park or visit a friend, to name a few.<\/p>\n<h3>6.\u00a0 Keep making more goals<\/h3>\n<p>Once you accomplish a goal and feel you have a good handle on it, add another one. This will encourage you to maintain your good habits and push yourself further.<\/p>\n<h3>7.\u00a0 Practice self-care<\/h3>\n<p>Remember to make yourself a priority. Take time off when you need it and don\u2019t feel guilty for treating yourself.
