Tia Carpino

Tia is in her third year of her doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr. John Weekes and Dr. Cheryl Harasymchuk. Tia’s doctoral dissertation examines women’s experiences with supervised consumption sites. Specifically, this research focuses on understanding  barriers to accessing, experiences within, and outcomes of supervised consumption sites for diverse groups of women who use drugs. Her Masters thesis focused on women’s perceptions and experiences of body shaming.

Tia completed her honours thesis with Dr. Harasymchuk. Here, she investigated predictors of tolerant attitudes towards intimate partner violence.
