\"\"<\/a>The Province of Ontario defines a good citizen, generally speaking, as a person who has contributed in an exceptional way, for a long
\ntime, to the betterment of their community, without seeking payment or gratitude.<\/p>\n

On November 16, 2009, at an investiture ceremony at Queen\u2019s Park, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, David C. Onley conferred the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship upon Ted Jackson, for precisely that reason.<\/p>\n

He was one of 11 Ontarians receiving the prestigious honour in 2009, and one of very few academics ever to receive it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
