Carleton University embraces a substance use health<\/a> approach which understands substance use is influenced by and has impacts on an individual\u2019s social, physical and mental health and well-being. Carleton University\u2019s Umbrella Project harm reduction strategy<\/a> promotes positive substance use health and aims to reduce stigma and encourage safer substance use through education, outreach and support. Harm reduction<\/a> is an umbrella term for policies and practices focused on reducing negative physical, social and legal impacts of substance use.<\/p>\n
