In association with the Embassy of France, the Carleton Initiative for Parliamentary and Diplomatic Engagement organized a panel on the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade (CETA) negotiations at the French Embassy.

More than 100 guests listened to the panelists who included Canada’s Chief Negotiator, Steve Verheul; European Union Ambassador Matthias Brinkmann; and the CEO of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, Jayson Myers. Dr. André Plourde, Dean of the Faculty of Public Affairs, moderated the panel and Dr. Ian Lee from the Sprott School of Business offered closing remarks.

More than 45 MPs and staffers and 22 diplomats representing the European Union listened to a substantive, relevant and interesting discussion on the status of the negotiations and the impact of the proposed trade agreement.
