Canada’s Future as an Energy Supplier

With the support of James Rajotte, M.P., chair of the Standing Committee on Finance; Peter Julian, M.P., Official Opposition critic for Energy and Natural Resources; and David McGuinty, M.P., Liberal critic for Energy and Natural Resources, the Carleton Initiative for Parliamentary and Diplomatic Engagement organized a panel and networking reception on Canada’s Future as an Energy Supplier.

More than 80 M.P.s, staffers, Ambassadors, High Commissioners and other diplomats, journalists, lobbyists, analysts and Carleton students attended October 29, 2012 at the Government Conference Centre and listened to Dr. André Plourde, Dean of the Faculty of Public Affairs and Professor Economics at Carleton University moderate the panel.

Panelists included Dave Collyer, President, Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers; Michael Cleland, Principal Energy Advisor to the Canada West Foundation; Merran Smith, Director, Clean Energy Canada, Tides Canada; and Dr. Metin Yaras, Chair, Sustainable energy, Faculty of Engineering and Design, Carleton University.
