The Carleton Initiative is directed by Maureen Boyd, a senior fellow at Carleton’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA). Boyd brings her experience and extensive contacts on Parliament Hill as a parliamentary intern, senior political staffer and national television reporter, at Rideau Hall with three Governors General, in Ottawa’s diplomatic community and through diplomatic life in New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Washington. Of specific interest to this initiative, Maureen has advised the Library of Parliament on orientation for parliamentarians and created a pilot program for orientating newly arrived diplomats for the Office of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
