To all members of the Carleton community,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton University offices will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023<\/strong> through Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024<\/strong> inclusive for the holiday season and will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should you wish to take vacation days to extend the holiday period noted above, please ensure you discuss your request with your manager and, if approved, include all leave on your monthly report. We encourage managers to support extended leave requests where possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holiday Building Closures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the holiday closure period, all campus buildings will be locked. Authorized students, faculty and staff may gain access using their campus card at card readers in buildings equipped with that technology. Faculty and staff are encouraged to arrange for any required access prior to the holiday closure by contacting your Department Chair and\/or Department Administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campus Safety Services (CSS) will provide access to buildings on an emergency basis only. The CSS Communication Centre can be reached at 613-520-4444 in emergencies, and 613-520-3612 for general enquiries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Variations of this closure include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scheduling and Examinations<\/strong>
\nScheduling and Examination Services will be open until 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23 for pick-up of completed examinations written on Friday, Dec. 22 through the McIntyre Exam Centre. All pick-ups will take place in Nideyin\u00e0n 133.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Library <\/strong>
\nMacOdrum Library will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023 and will reopen on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residence and Dining Services<\/strong>
\nOnly those students who have registered, received permission and paid to remain will have access to their rooms. Card access for all other students will be deactivated from noon on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023 until noon on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024. No student will be permitted to remain in or enter a closed building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last meal served in The Caf will be breakfast which ends at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023. During the closure period, no dining service outlets will be open. The first meal served in The Caf will be dinner on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recreation and Athletics<\/strong>
\nAthletics facilities will be closed Monday, Dec. 25, 2023 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. For more information regarding specific facility operations over the holidays, including the Ice House, Fitness Centre and Pool, please visit the Athletics website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
