He was a gifted teacher, diligent researcher, enthusiastic project manager, a valued editorial board member of several journals, and a communicator par excellence whose clear and concise delivery on a range of topics \u2013 all without notes \u2013 won him many admirers.<\/p>\n<p>The admirers most valued by Dr. Rudner were his students, and as such, he dedicated his life and career to inspiring and educating the next generation. In 2019, Dr. Rudner passed away, leaving a gift in his will to establish a scholarship to support outstanding graduate students enrolled in the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow more than ever, financial aid is vitally important to the success of our students,\u201d said Yiagadeesen (Teddy) Samy, director of NPSIA. \u201cThe Dr. Martin Rudner Memorial Scholarship in Intelligence and Security will recognize exceptional scholars and provide much-needed financial support to students now and in the future. It will be an honour to award this scholarship in Dr. Rudner\u2019s name, and we are truly grateful for his forward-thinking generosity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Rudner\u2019s research and writing explored intelligence studies, international intelligence relations, terrorism finance, terrorism and counter-terrorism, critical energy infrastructure protection policy, intelligence accountability, and oversight.
