Doosik Shin will be talking about the “Why” Behind Our Goals: Perspectives from Self-Determination Theory
When we set goals or struggle to keep them, we are often met with tips on “how” to set and pursue goals (e.g., SMART goals). In this presentation, Doosik will examine the “why” behind our goals instead—in other words, what motivates us. Self-determination theory research will be referenced heavily and concepts like intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and basic psychological needs, will be discussed and contextualized in real-world settings. Learn how to apply these concepts in your own life!
Registration is free but required in order to attend.
