Parking is available on several lots around campus by a permit, at daily “pay and display” sites, and hourly meters. University Safety issues parking permits and enforces violations.
Parking – Special Permits
Persons requiring a special permit must obtain a “Accessible Parking Permit” from the Ministry of Transportation. A special permit allows access to any disabled space, designated metered space reserved for persons with disabilities, or any non-reserved space when both permits are displaced in the windshield.
Because the University is private property, on-street parking and free parking at meters for persons displaying an M.O.T permit is prohibited.
Parking – Temporary Disability
Persons with a medical certificate, who are unable to obtain a “Physically Disabled Parking Permit”, may be issued a temporary permit for up to two months, which will allow parking in the most convenient lot (space permitting). This permit may be extended upon presentation of an updated medical certificate. Persons not holding a valid Carleton University permit must purchase the temporary permit, based on the monthly rate of the lot assignment. Temporary permits are issued by University Safety on the recommendation of the PMC.
