Graduate Thesis Virtual Writing Retreat(s)

Need additional motivation to work on your thesis?

Sign-up for one of our Graduate Thesis Virtual Writing Retreats! During each retreat, graduate students working on their thesis will have the change to introduce themselves and their project(s), set goals, and work independently in a space with accountability to each other.

Full-Day Retreat

Want to take advantage of the fall reading week? Sign up for the PMC Full-Day Graduate (Master’s and PhD) Thesis Virtual Writing Retreat on Saturday, October 28 from 9:00am – 4:00pm! This full day session is on a Saturday to avoid conflicts with weekly obligations (e.g., TAships, part/full-time jobs, etc.) and ensure maximum focus.

NOTE that this retreat is only for Graduate Students (Master’s and PhD) in the Thesis Writing Stage of their Program.
Please ONLY register if you can commit to the full day (we will take breaks).

In the morning (first 10-15 minutes), graduate students will briefly introduce themselves, their thesis projects, and set tangible writing goals for the morning. Students will work until 11:50pm when they will reflect on their progress before lunch (12-1pm). After lunch, students will set tangible writing goals for the afternoon and will then work until 3:45pm. Students will then reflect on their progress and set long-term goals.

Half-Day Retreat

Need help staying on track leading into the winter term? Sign up for the PMC Half-Day Graduate (Master’s and PhD) Thesis Virtual Writing Retreat on Friday, November 24 from 9:00am – 12:00pm! Registrants will receive a list of graduate resources in advance of the Half Day Retreat.

During the first 10-15 minutes, graduate students will briefly introduce themselves, their thesis projects, and set tangible writing goals for the session. Students will work until 10:30am before taking a 15-minute break. After the break, students will continue to work until 11:50am. At the end of the session, students will reflect on their progress and set long-term goals.
