<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"the-mcintyre-examination-centre-mec\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The McIntyre Examination Centre (MEC)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ses\/exam-accommodations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McIntyre Exam Centre (MEC)<\/a>, a division within Scheduling and Examination Services (SES), provides a range of in-person and online exam services to help course instructors with the accommodation of students registered with the Paul Menton Centre. MEC has two examination &nbsp;locations on campus: <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus\/buildings\/nideyinan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">133 Nideyin\u00e0n<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus\/buildings\/dunton-tower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">7<sup>th<\/sup> Floor of Dunton Tower<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order for students to write their tests and exams at MEC with accommodations, they must follow the recommended processes for <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/pmc\/current-students\/academic-accommodations\/requesting-academic-accommodations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">requesting accommodations at the beginning of the term<\/a>, and managing exam accommodations throughout the term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#BacktoTop\">Back to Top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"managing-your-exam-accommodations\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Managing Your Exam Accommodations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a Notice of Examination (NoE) has been submitted by your professor to the McIntyre Exam Centre for an upcoming test or exam, it is your responsibility to manage your accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"five-steps-to-managing-your-accommodations-for-a-test-or-exam\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Five Steps to Managing your Accommodations for a Test or Exam<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"1-verify-that-your-accommodations-are-accurate-for-an-upcoming-test-or-exam\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Verify that your accommodations are accurate for an upcoming test or exam.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If the accommodations are not accurate, make the necessary adjustment(s) in Ventus at least ten (10) business days before the test or exam. After the 10-business-day deadline, contact your PMC coordinator to make adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"2-opt-out-if-the-accommodations-are-not-needed\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Opt-Out (if the accommodations are not needed).<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would prefer to write an upcoming test or exam scheduled at the McIntyre Exam Centre&nbsp;<strong>without accommodation(s)<\/strong>, you can opt out in Ventus up to ten (10) business days before the date of the test or exam. After the 10-business-day deadline, email your PMC coordinator to opt out\/cancel your accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"3-verify-your-exam-and-accommodation-details-in-ventus-three-3-days-before-each-test-or-exam\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Verify your <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">exam and accommodation details in Ventus three (3) days before each test or exam.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You will find these details in Ventus Student Portal in the \u201cExams\u201d tab, including course, exam type, location, scheduled date, start time, end time, and status. Ventus will automatically send a confirmation email to your <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">cmail address<\/strong> three (3) days before an upcoming test or exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"4-attend-your-test-or-exam-on-the-scheduled-date\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Attend your test or exam on the scheduled date. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure to arrive 15 minutes early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"5-report-any-problems-or-issues-that-you-experienced\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.
