and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">5 days before the date of an online exam in Brightspace.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure the accommodations for each exam are accurate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Report any missing or inaccurate accommodation(s) to your PMC coordinator ASAP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"familiarize-yourself-with-in-person-exam-locations\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Familiarize Yourself with In-Person Exam Location(s)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus-map\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interactive campus map<\/a> to plan your route in advance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During the formal exam period, accommodated exams are typically scheduled at the following locations:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>133 Nideyinan: <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus\/buildings\/nideyinan\/\">building information<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/momento360.com\/e\/uc\/48e7b8cdb2264a16959e6a6a3a40efff?utm_campaign=embed&amp;utm_source=other&amp;size=medium&amp;display-plan=true\">virtual tour<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tls\/rooms\/\">room search<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>512 Nideyinan \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Budget enough time to travel to campus in time for your exams<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>whether arranging a ride with family\/friend or planning out your OC Transpo trip.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"for-online-exams\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">For online exams\u2026<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If there is no accommodation information for an online exam, email your course instructor ASAP to ask if they plan to apply the extra time in Brightspace themselves or if MEC will apply it on their behalf.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the exam type is <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">in-person proctored digital exam<\/strong>, which will be labelled as <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">\u201cOnline &#8211; Brightspace, student brings device\u201d<\/strong>, please make sure to bring your device to the exam and check the location of the exam in Ventus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are writing an exam that is being\u00a0<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">e-proctored by CoMaS or Zoom<\/strong>,\u00a0make sure you are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ses\/e-proctoring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>familiar with the technical guidelines<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0before the exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"at-reminders\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">AT reminders\u2026<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">If you have Assistive Technology (AT) software (e.g. reading or voice dictation)<\/strong>\u00a0as part of your exam accommodations, make sure you are trained and comfortable using the software before your exams. AT training with an assistive technologist can be arranged through your PMC coordinator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">\u201cpre-approved personal music\u201d<\/strong> as an\u00a0accommodation for your exams, please contact Synclair Calder, <a href=\"mailto:SynclairCalder@cunet.carleton.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SynclairCalder@cunet.carleton.ca<\/a>, to make arrangements to have your music vetted before your exams if you have not already done so. If you do not submit any music, generic music will be provided to you for your exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Note that smart glasses\u00a0(e.g. Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer) and smart watches are considered\u00a0unauthorized <\/strong>devices\u00a0and are not permitted at formal exam sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"on-exam-day\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">On Exam Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Plan to arrive\u00a0<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">15 minutes before<\/strong>\u00a0your exam begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">If you arrive late\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">There is a\u00a030-minute grace period<\/strong>\u00a0at the start of formally scheduled exams.\u00a0If you arrive at your exam location within 30 minutes of the scheduled start time, you will be admitted without question.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">more than 30 minutes late<\/strong>, proceed to your exam site. The on-site proctor will contact your professor to seek permission for you to write the exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">You will not receive additional time to make-u<\/strong><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">p<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>for the time lost due to the late arrival. If you feel that there is not sufficient time to successfully complete your exam, you should instead apply for a deferral through the Registrar\u2019s Office. If you begin writing a final exam, then you are no longer eligible for a deferred exam.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Before you begin\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review the summary of accommodations and the amount of time (extra time included) you are entitled to receive for accuracy.
