DESCRIPTION:This event will take place in-person.  Location to be determined.



This is paid pedagogical training for TA's who attend.



Gendered power dynamics in the classroom.



In this workshop, we explore challenges of gender dynamics among students, and between students and TAs, in the classroom.  While diverse perspectives and positionalities of students can make for a rich learning environment, gender dynamics can sometimes lead to difficulties or disruptions. We will consider the unique challenges faced by women TAs and the ways this can become a teaching opportunity rather than a source of unproductive tension. Guest speaker(s) will be on hand to share some personal experiences and strategies.
