He earned a PhD in Political Science from Carleton University in 2015 with a dissertation examining how political ideologies shape Israeli policy toward the peace process. Hamed\u2019s work sits at the intersection of foreign policy analysis and Middle East studies. His research interests range across US foreign policy in the Middle East, the ideological drivers of Israeli statecraft, and Iranian foreign policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on topics such as Government and Politics in the Middle East, Theories of International Relations, US Foreign Policy, and International Security. He has supervised sixteen MA students and two PhD students to completion. He has also held visiting and contract teaching posts at Carleton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His peer-reviewed articles include &#8220;The \u2018Iran Card\u2019 in Russian Foreign Policy,&#8221; published in <em>Middle East Policy,<\/em> &#8220;Labor Zionist Ideology and the Foundation of Israeli Foreign Policy,&#8221; published in <em>Asian Affairs,<\/em> and &#8220;Fluctuations in Iran-Russia Relations During the Past Four Decades,&#8221; published in <em>Iran and the Caucasus<\/em>.
