Prior to that I taught sociology and criminology at the University of Ottawa. Paulo Freire and <em>The Pedagogy of the Oppressed<\/em> were central to my doctoral research on prisoner resistance and leadership development in the IRA and Sinn Fein. I have been a member of this advisory board since its inception and attend board meetings. In my spare time, I campaign for Irish Unity.
