\n Upcoming Visiting Professor Lecture by Kevin Skerrett\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

The Institute of Political Economy is excited to announce our upcoming lecture by the fall 2020 Visiting Professor, Kevin Skerrett!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin will deliver a lecture on Pension Fund Capitalism and the Covid-19 Pandemic in Canada: A Socialist Perspective<\/a> <\/strong>next Wednesday, November 18th from 19:00-20:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin is currently serving as a Fall 2020 Visiting Professor<\/a> at the Institute of Political Economy at Carleton University. This semester he is teaching two courses, Union Power in Canada Under Neoliberal Capitalism<\/strong> (PECO 5503F) for Political Economy Work & Labour Program and The Political Economy of the Neoliberal State <\/strong>for Sociology (SOCI 5806G). He was a co-editor of the Cornell University Press volume The Contradictions of Pension Fund Capitalism<\/a> (2018). He is on leave from his work as a Senior Research Officer assigned to pensions at CUPE, the Canadian Union of Public Employees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This lecture will be moderated by Dr. Stephanie Ross (Associate Professor, Director, School of Labour Studies, McMaster University).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
