Peck. B.A., B.Ed. (Dalhousie), (HKS \u201904) has been a Fellow with the Clayton H. Riddell Master of Political Management program since its inception and regularly teaches courses and is a guest instructor in the Program. &nbsp;Laura has conducted thousands of communications skills programs for senior executives and political leaders across Canada and the United States. Prior to her becoming a communications consultant and trainer, Laura was a television and radio broadcaster for private radio and the CBC in the Maritimes, and then was a Political Assistant to the Chief Government Whip and Press Secretary to a Minister on Parliament Hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laura has conducted thousands of seminars in media training, presentation skills delivery, strategic communications, handling conflict, Appearing Before Parliamentary Committees, and Risk &amp; Crisis Communications. She has trained numerous Premiers, MPs, and elected officials at every level across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laura is frequently asked to be a media and issues analyst for CTV <u>National News<\/u>, Global TV\u2019s <u>The National<\/u>, 1310 News, CFRA580, the Ottawa Citizen and CBC <u>Power &amp; Politics<\/u>, as well as online media including HuffingtonPost.ca. She has also contributed articles for <u>Campaigns and Elections<\/u> magazine on campaign communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laura&nbsp;is a chapter author of&nbsp;the Oxford University&nbsp;Press book &#8216;Public Speaking in Canada&#8217; and is profiled in <u>Fearless: Girls with Dreams, Women with Vision<\/u> (2019) by Janice McDonald and is a recipient of a \u2018Communications Excellence\u2019 Award from <em>Women in Communications and Technology <\/em>(WCT) in 2014. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education Degree from Dalhousie University and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program, <u>The Art and Practice of Leadership Development<\/u> at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) in 2004.
