Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management is pleased to announce that Professor Jennifer Robson has been appointed program director, effective 1 July 2022.

Dr. Robson was one of the program’s founding core faculty members in 2011. Previously she worked in the voluntary sector and in the federal government in both public service and political roles. Her research on poverty, Employment Insurance, education savings, and tax-filing has been influential in policy circles, inside and outside of government. With co-author Saul Schwartz, she won the 2020 Vanderkamp Prize awarded by Canadian Public Policy. Dr. Robson is also a member of the Royal Society of Canada’s Task Force on Covid-19. She holds degrees in psychology and political science and completed her PhD in Public Policy in 2013.

Professor Robson is replacing Professor Stephen Azzi, who served two three-year terms as director. Professor Azzi remains a core faculty member within the program.

The Riddell program offers Canada’s only graduate degree in applied politics. Twenty-five students are admitted each year to study Canadian political institutions, strategic communications, public opinion research, leadership, public policy, government relations and campaigns. Graduates work at all orders of government as political advisors or public servants, as well as leaders in government relations firms, advocacy organizations, and business associations.

For more information, contact Stephen Azzi at stephen.azzi@carleton.ca.

The Clayton H.
