{"id":729,"date":"2012-06-11T14:07:26","date_gmt":"2012-06-11T18:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/politicalmanagement\/?p=729"},"modified":"2026-04-13T16:08:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T20:08:18","slug":"allan-gregg-joins-the-riddell-program-as-adjunct-professor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/politicalmanagement\/2012\/allan-gregg-joins-the-riddell-program-as-adjunct-professor\/","title":{"rendered":"Allan Gregg joins the Riddell program as adjunct professor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"w-screen px-6 cu-section cu-section--white ml-offset-center md:px-8 lg:px-14\">\n    <div class=\"space-y-6 cu-max-w-child-5xl  md:space-y-10 cu-prose-first-last\">\n\n            <div class=\"cu-textmedia flex flex-col lg:flex-row mx-auto gap-6 md:gap-10 my-6 md:my-12 first:mt-0 max-w-5xl\">\n        <div class=\"justify-start cu-textmedia-content cu-prose-first-last\" style=\"flex: 0 0 100%;\">\n            <header class=\"font-light prose-xl cu-pageheader md:prose-2xl cu-component-updated cu-prose-first-last\">\n                                    <h1 class=\"cu-prose-first-last font-semibold !mt-2 mb-4 md:mb-6 relative after:absolute after:h-px after:bottom-0 after:bg-cu-red after:left-px text-3xl md:text-4xl lg:text-5xl lg:leading-[3.5rem] pb-5 after:w-10 text-cu-black-700 not-prose\">\n                        Allan Gregg joins the Riddell program as adjunct professor\n                    <\/h1>\n                \n                                \n                            <\/header>\n\n                    <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n<p>Allan Gregg, the chair of Harris\/Decima and host of TVOntario\u2019s <em>Allan Gregg in Conversation With<\/em>, joins the Clayton Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management and the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs as an adjunct professor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Gregg was a doctoral student and lecturer in Political Science at Carleton University in the 1970s before the demands of a young family obliged him to give up his studies.&nbsp; He went on to found Decima Research and became pollster and strategist for the Progressive Conservative Party under Brian Mulroney, being credited as a key architect of the party\u2019s federal election victories in 1984 and 1988.&nbsp; Over his career he has participated in more than 50 election campaigns on three continents.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He sold his share of Decima following the 1993 federal election, and after a sabbatical co-founded a new company, The Strategic Counsel, in 1995.&nbsp; He left that partnership in 2007, when he returned to Harris\/Decima as chair.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He served for five years as the chair of the Toronto International Film Festival, he was one of the founders of YTV, the Canadian children\u2019s television channel, he co-managed The Tragically Hip, and has served as chair of The Walrus Foundation, on whose advisory board he still sits.
