programs has supported a growing body of interdisciplinary research focused on Human-Centered Design, data-driven technologies, and experience-oriented learning. These grants include support from the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)<\/strong>, the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">New Frontiers in Research Fund \u2013 Exploration (NFRF-E)<\/strong>, and Carleton University\u2019s internal programs such as the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Multidisciplinary Research Catalyst Fund (MRCF)<\/strong>, the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Carleton University Experiential Learning Fund (CUELF)<\/strong>, and the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">FUSION Skills Development Fund<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funded and submitted projects span multiple research directions:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Data physicalization and youth mental health<\/strong>, funded by NSERC\u2013ECR, explores tangible, participatory approaches to help young people reflect on emotional well-being and technology use.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Health data visualization and clinical communication<\/strong>, through an NFRF\u2013Exploration grant, investigates interactive systems for enhancing shared understanding between patients and healthcare providers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Socially-inclusive extended reality (XR)<\/strong>, supported by MRCF, focuses on multi-user low-cost XR platforms for equitable collaboration and communication.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Design education and experiential learning<\/strong>, funded through CUELF and FUSION, integrates methods such as LEGO Serious Play and AI\/Digital Literacy into curriculum development to foster critical reflection and creative problem-solving in students.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to funded initiatives, further interdisciplinary projects have been submitted in collaboration with colleagues across institutions and disciplines, addressing themes such as assistive robotics, climate change education, dementia care, and remote immersive learning.
