To all members of the<\/span> Carleton community,

We join the<\/span> world in grieving the<\/span> tremendous human suffering and loss of life resulting from<\/span> the<\/span> current crisis in Israel and Gaza. We align ourselves with the<\/span> global community in its appeals for peace<\/a>, the<\/span> condemnation of terrorism, the<\/span> release of all hostages and the<\/span> sparing of civilian lives.<\/p>\n

We offer our heartfelt condolences to all those in our university community who are directly or indirectly affected by the<\/span> violence of the<\/span>se horrendous events, which impact our university in real, tangible ways. Many have different views on this complex situation; we encourage everyone to choose empathy and understanding when engaging in dialogue as we work to support each other through this difficult moment.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> International Student Services Office (ISSO)<\/a> has reached out directly to Carleton students who are residents of Israel or Palestine and have offered all available services and resources that the<\/span>y may need at this time.<\/p>\n

Any student who is affected by the<\/span>se events is encouraged to connect with the<\/span> resources available through the<\/span> university\u2019s Mental Health and Wellness<\/a> hub, including booking an appointment with Health and Counselling Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Faculty and staff are also encouraged to access the<\/span> Employee & Family Assistance Program<\/a> for resources and support.<\/p>\n

Carleton will continue to monitor the<\/span> situation and provide further updates as needed.<\/p>\n
