About the Position:

The School of Computer Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada invites applications from qualified candidates for a confirmation-track appointment in Computer Science at the rank of Instructor I, beginning July 1, 2021.

The primary duty of this position is to teach six undergraduate courses, mostly first- and second-year level, but there are few at the third-year level.

We encourage applications from candidates from groups underrepresented in Computer Science and/or with experience in mentoring students from such groups.

About the Academic Unit:

The School has 40 full-time faculty members and particular research strengths in computational geometry, computer security, big data analytics, databases and information systems, graphics, HCI, high­ performance computing, machine learning, networks and distributed computing. The School offers a Bachelor of Computer Science degree and graduate programs at the Masters and Ph.D. levels. For more information about the School of Computer Science, please consult


A Ph.D. in Computer Science is required. Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
