Cheryl Murphy

Cheryl Murphy is an administrative professional with over 25 years of experience in the academic sector, including 11 years at Carleton University. She currently serves as Manager, Academic Initiatives and Operations in the Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic). In this role, Cheryl provides executive and committee support to the Provost, manages the office budget and oversees human resource functions.
Previously, Cheryl spent five years as Manager of Faculty Operations in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, leading administrative human resources, infrastructure planning and health and safety initiatives. She has also held roles in the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International), the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies and the Office of Graduate Studies.
Cheryl holds a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation and has extensive experience in human resources management, budget administration and operations oversight. She is also pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Cheryl’s strong problem-solving skills and deep understanding of Carleton’s operations make her a valuable contributor to the university’s leadership
