Carleton is situated on the traditional, unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Nation. In an effort to embody a significant territory acknowledgement in a meaningful way, Carleton engaged in a thorough consultation with the Algonquin Advisory Council and Algonquin communities in the region\u2014notably Kitigan Zibi and Pikwakanagan\u2014to name this central and high-profile facility which is the crossroads of all campus activity. The new name is Nideyin\u00e0n (pronounced nih-DAY-in-nahn<\/em><\/a>) and translates to \u201cour heart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nideyin\u00e0n, formerly known as the University Centre or Unicentre, is a focal point for student life at Carleton. Inside you will find:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
