In line with recommendations and best practice, the role of the Provost was expanded to include oversight of the operating budget, strategic planning, and academic relations with CUASA, CUPE 4600 Units 1 and 2, and PSAC 77000. The office will be led by <a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom.carleton.ca\/2019\/five-outstanding-carleton-leaders\">Lorraine Dyke, who was appointed Deputy Provost (Academic Operations and Planning)<\/a>.<\/li><li>Assistant Vice-President (Academic) <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/provost\/2019\/dwight-deugo-appointed-vpavpa\">Dwight Deugo was appointed Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President (Academic)<\/a>. His current position as Assistant Vice-President (Academic) will not be filled at this time. Otherwise, the structure of the Office of the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President (Academic) remains the same.<\/li><li>The Discovery Centre for Undergraduate Research and Engagement, which formerly reported into the Office of the Provost, will now be part of the portfolio of Teaching and Learning Services.&nbsp;David Hornsby, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), will take over responsibility of the Discovery Centre with the support of the Discovery Centre Administrator.<\/li><li>\n<p><\/p><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-23939 size-medium\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/provost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/Bruce-Winer_300x230.png\" alt=\"Bruce Winer\" class=\"wp-image-27791\" width=\"231\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/provost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/Bruce-Winer_300x230.png 300w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/provost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/Bruce-Winer_300x230-200x153.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 231px) 100vw, 231px\" \/><figcaption>Bruce Winer, Assistant Vice-President (Institutional Research and Planning)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office of Institutional Research and Planning (OIRP), which formerly reported into the Office of the Vice-President (Finance and Administration), will now report to the Office of the Provost and work closely with the Office of the Deputy Provost.
