Anne Tr\u00e9panier and Sarah Todd<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Anne Tr\u00e9panier (Indigenous and Canadian Studies) is one of only five winners around the world of a <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/edc\/2019\/anne-trepanier-receives-2019-d2l-innovation-award-in-teaching-and-learning\">2019 D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning<\/a>. The overall aims are to foster deep student learning at Carleton University and promote curiosity, reflection, and exploration in the areas of teaching and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Milica Stojmenovic, Computer Science<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"internal-teaching-grants\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internal Teaching Grants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"discovery-centre-fellowship\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discovery Centre Fellowship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This fellowship recognizes a significant contribution to reflective and research-informed teaching. It provides an opportunity for Carleton faculty members to further develop or innovate their teaching and make an impact to the broader academic community. The inaugural recipients of this fellowship are Melanie Adrian (Law and Legal Studies) and Mira Sucharov (Political Science).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"scholarship-of-teaching-and-learning-sotl-grant\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Grant<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This grant provides funding for Carleton\u2019s instructors to engage in scholarly investigations of all aspects of teaching and learning. This year\u2019s recipients are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mustafa Bahran and Alain Bellerive, Physics<\/li><li>Paulo Garcia, Systems and Computer Engineering<\/li><li>Samuel McCready, History<\/li><li>Sophie Tamas, Geography and Environmental Studies; Indigenous and Canadian Studies<\/li><li>Kim Hellemans, Kim&nbsp;Matheson and Hymie Anisman (Neuroscience), Robyn McQuaid (Institute for Mental Health Research, Royal Ottawa Hospital) and&nbsp;Larry McCloskey (Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Two instructors also received funding for teaching development projects in their courses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Shermeen Nizami, Health Sciences<\/li><li>Deanna C.
