\n Undergraduate Grading Option (SAT) Extended for Fall 2021\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n

For distribution to all Chairs, Directors, Faculty, Instructors, Librarians, Contract Instructors and Departmental Administrators.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of the ongoing pandemic, Senate approved the extension of <\/span>the flexible and compassionate grading options<\/span><\/a> for undergraduate students for the Fall 2021 term. Specifically, Senate has approved the optional conversion of one 0.5 credit grade to Satisfactory (SAT) for the Fall 2021 term. SAT\/UNS grades are not used in the calculation of CGPA, which means that changes in academic performance due to the current disruption will not affect students\u2019 permanent records. Extending these measures to the Winter 2022 term may be considered at a later time.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words, students will be able to request to designate one 0.5 credit passing grade to SAT in the Fall 2021 term. Should a student request the alternative notation of SAT, the originally recorded grade will remain available through the Registrar\u2019s Office in the event it is needed for other purposes. Notably, if the course in question is a prerequisite for other courses, students will still be required to meet the minimum prerequisite grade, whether or not that grade has been replaced by SAT on the official transcript. The application form used to request conversion of a grade to SAT will be available at the start of the Fall 2021 examination period.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Registrar\u2019s Office will automatically convert F grades to UNS for undergraduate students for the Fall 2021 terms. This measure excludes failing grades that are assigned as a result of an academic integrity violation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
