The Department of Psychology is pleased to congratulate Dr. John R. Weekes on receiving the 2018 Maud Booth Correctional Services Award from Volunteers of America. This prestigious award is given each year to a leader whose work has had an important impact on the criminal justice system. Dr. Weekes, an Adjunct Research Professor and course instructor for the Department of Psychology at Carleton University, has contributed to the fields of corrections, criminal justice and forensic psychology research for over 35 years. He currently serves as the Director of Research and Academics at the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. Dr. Weekes will be presented with the honour during the American Correctional Association’s 2018 congress of Corrections, scheduled Aug. 2-7 in Minneapolis.
