Psychology Undergraduate Research Event (PURE) 2012
In the spring of 2012, the Department of Psychology held the inaugural Psychology Undergraduate Research Event (PURE). This provided an opportunity for undergraduate thesis students (PSYC 4907/4908) to share their thesis research via poster presentations. Faculty, fellow students, and members of the University community were invited to attend this celebration of student achievement. For a slideshow of the event, please click on the images below.
Awards and Prizes
Presenters had an opportunity to earn one of several awards. Criteria for evaluation included organization, readability, quality of content, and visual appeal of materials. The student with the best poster (as decided by the Undergraduate Committee) earned a new iPad with retinal display and 4G capability. There were also prizes associated with 2nd and 3rd place, along with a People’s Choice Award that was decided by those in attendance. Here were the results:
1st Place: Ian Syrett (Advisor: Adelle Forth)
2nd Place: Taylor Hatchard (Advisors: Matthew Holahan, Alfonso Abizaid)
3rd Place: Sonia Rahimi (Advisor: Tim Pychyl)
