The objective of the Personality and Social Psychology concentration is to provide advanced education for students in related areas of social psychology that reflects both basic and applied issues. Students may gain applied experience by working collaboratively on their theses in a co-advisorship arrangement involving an internal and external (adjunct) faculty advisor.

Graduates from the MA program are well prepared for employment as social science researchers in government and private industry. Graduates from the PhD program are prepared for careers in academia and/or advanced research and consulting activities in the public and private sectors.
