Very little information is locked away anymore. The tools to learn, build, publish, and create are available to almost everyone. Start something, anything, but do it with intention and let it reflect your value. That’s usually how direction reveals itself, whether it leads you to building your own path or joining people who share your goals.“

What is your current position of employment or schooling?

As the VP of sales & Marketing at Rocketbarn, I am helping grow the business and improve how we support clients. I work on partnerships, marketing systems, team strategy, profitability and making sure our services deliver the desired results.

What inspired your career path after graduation?

I found myself increasingly drawn toward business and away from psychology and academia. That shift led me back to school for marketing, which felt like the right bridge between the two worlds. Along the way, I connected with industry professionals who helped launch my career straight out of school, and since then I’ve stayed energized by the work and continued growing alongside the company.

How did your experience in the psychology program shape your journey?

I pursued psychology because I was fascinated by how people think, what drives motivation, and how we become who we are. While the program helped explore those questions, it also strengthened my research skills, critical thinking, and persuasive writing. More importantly, it taught me that a university education extends far beyond lectures and exams. A huge amount of growth comes from the relationships you build, the conversations you have, and the opportunities you choose to get involved in outside the classroom.

What skills did you learn in your degree here at Carleton that helped you in your current position?

The most valuable skills I took from my degree at Carleton were researching, critical thinking, persuasive writing, public speaking & general analysis- all of which play a role in what I do every day.

Do you have a favourite memory from your program at Carleton? A favourite course? A favourite psychology professor that had a big impact?

My final year at Carleton had me in a thesis project class with professor Rachelle Thibodeau. She did a fantastic job in creating a strict but supportive environment that helped prepare me for the high expectations of the real world. She was a fantastic educator, which allowed me to leave Carleton with a truly positive experience.

What has been a highlight or proud moment in your career so far?

I’ve had the opportunity to present to industry leaders across the US and Canada at various events throughout my career.
