Register for Carleton 360\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Once you have created your account, you will be able to log in to Carleton 360, using your email address.<\/li>\n<li>Once logged in, you will be directed to the Carleton 360 home screen. From here, click on the \u201cApply Now\u201d button on the right-hand side of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Select the \u201cGraduate Application\u201d button to create a new application. Alternatively, if you already have an application in progress, you will see it below in the \u201cIn-Progress Applications\u201d tab.\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: upper-alpha;\">\n<li>If you are creating a new application, you will need to select your program, starting with the program level (Master\u2019s or Doctoral).\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>Next, you will select your department as Psychology<\/li>\n<li>Then, you will select your degree as a Master of Arts or Doctor of Philosophy<\/li>\n<li>Once you have selected the above two (2) options, you will not need to enter any key words. Click on the Search Now button.<\/li>\n<li>Select the option in the search results for either a Master of Arts: Psychology or Doctor of Philosophy: Psychology<\/li>\n<li>Next, please select your term of application, and click on the Apply button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>You will need to complete all sections in your application, including the following:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: upper-alpha;\">\n<li><strong>Program Details<\/strong>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>Expected course enrollment (i.e. full time or part time studies)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Personal Information<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Academic History<\/strong>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>This section includes entering information about your academic history as well as uploading PDFs of your transcripts now, or at a later date (before the deadline).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Experience and Interests<\/strong>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>This is where you select up to THREE (3) potential supervisors. You are advised to contact potential supervisors before the application deadline to find out about their availability to supervise.<\/li>\n<li>You may also upload your Statement of Intent and Resum\u00e9\/CV in this section now, or at a later date (before the deadline).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Test Scores<\/strong>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>This section is where you can report and upload any test scores, including English Language Proficiency scores, which you can also upload at a later date (before the deadline).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>References<\/strong>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>In order to complete your application, you will need to provide the contact information for 2 referees. <em>A referee is a faculty member with whom you have studied and is able to assess your potential for graduate level study and research.<\/em> Ensure that the referee information provided on your application is accurate. Referees will be contacted once your application has been submitted. <strong>Valid institutional or organizational email addresses are preferred. Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc. are not encouraged and will be verified. <\/strong><em>Note: References from family members, friends, students, former or current classmates, employees, colleagues and\/or Teaching Assistants are not accepted.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Source of Interest<\/strong>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>This is an optional section to fill out for statistical purposes only.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Declaration\/Submit<\/strong>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>Once you submit your application, you will not be able to modify it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>After you submit your online application you will be required to pay the non-refundable application fee of $110 for programs with admission in 2023. For programs with admission in 2024, the application fee is $120. This fee is payable to Carleton University and can be paid by INTERAC Online or Credit Card. Once your fee payment has been processed, you will be redirected to a Confirmation page. However, admission to our program is very competitive and you will be judged against other highly qualified candidates in the admission pool.\r\n\r\n[\/slideme]\r\n\r\n[slideme title=\"Are GRE scores required?\"]\r\n\r\nNo, GRE scores are not required for admission to our Psychology graduate programs.\r\n\r\n[\/slideme]\r\n\r\n[slideme title=\"Who can serve as a referee for my application?\"]\r\n\r\nA referee is a faculty member with whom you have studied and is able to assess your potential for graduate level study and research. References from non-academic supervisors may be accepted only under special circumstances.\r\n\r\nYou can read more about referees on the <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.carleton.ca\/apply-online\/required-documents\/\">Graduate Admissions website<\/a>.\r\n\r\n[\/slideme]\r\n\r\n[slideme title=\"What is considered an Advanced Statistics course?\"]\r\nAdvanced Statistics moves beyond basic statistics (e.g. theory) into more intermediate material (e.g. application) and is typically completed in year 3 or beyond. At Carleton, <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/psychology\/3000-level-undergraduate-courses\/\">PSYC 3000<\/a> would be considered an Advanced Statistics course.\r\n\r\n[\/slideme]\r\n\r\n[slideme title=\"What if I don't have an Honours degree in Psychology?\"]\r\nTo be considered for admission, you must possess an Honours degree in Psychology with at least high honours standing (A- or 80%). Exceptions will not be made (e.g. if you have a general Psychology degree and did not complete the Honours program, or if you have an Honours degree in any other program that is not Psychology).\r\n\r\n[\/slideme]\r\n\r\n[slideme title=\"I did a research project instead of a thesis for my Honours program. Is this be acceptable for the admissions requirement?\"]\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, because our program is in experimental psychology, we are strict about the thesis requirement and will not accept a research project in place of this.\r\n\r\n[\/slideme]\r\n\r\n[slideme title=\"Would I be able to do the graduate program as a part-time student?\"]\r\n\r\nIt is possible to do the program part-time. However, that will need to be a point of discussion between student and supervisor, as not all supervisors are willing to accept students who are not committed to full-time studies.\r\n\r\n[\/slideme]\r\n<h2>International Students<\/h2>\r\n[slideme title=\"How can I fulfill the Language Proficiency requirement?\"]\r\n\r\nProficiency in English is necessary to pursue graduate studies at Carleton University.
