The unit proactively identifies areas of risk, produces strategic recommendations, and develops best practices for Senior Management. Through the use of mixed methods (i.e., quantitative and qualitative) research designs, race-, gender-, and other demographically-based analyses (GBA+), and experimental\/quasi-experimental studies, the ORU produces operationally-relevant research products. This includes evaluations, literature reviews, environmental scans, file reviews, research papers, conference presentations, peer-reviewed journal articles, and statistical\/trends analyses. This provides an evidence-base for sound decision-making and allows for improvements to operational policies, training, equipment, processes, and standards. The ORU is responsible for developing sustainable academic partnerships, to ensure high-quality and innovative research. The unit also supports various community initiatives and programs.
